Two weeks ago I received an email from the Old School Brother Enois Scroggins (Funk-E, From E to U, International E) to review a new CD by a label friend of his. This friend is Keith Johnson who just released his album 'A Dream Come True..' on Diggy Down Records.

Keith, born in the US, is from 1978 and his roots are in Gospel. He is inspired by artists such as R. Kelly, Boyz II Men because their writing styles. Keith is a former member of the Contemporary Gospel Group called “FAVOR.”

This eighteen track album is in the style Soul, Rap and Pop. The first track 'You Should Be' has a smooth Old School vibe from the nineties, with eighties synth sounds, written by Keith and Oliv' (a France based songwriter and music manager). For me a favourite track. Track #2 'Marry Me' consist of a groovy bass line with nice sing-along Chorus on top sounds great. This track gets better each time listening to. The Downtempo Old School track 'She's a Gold Digger' sounds like the first track, nineties sound with fantastic eighties synth sounds. Recommended track. Oliv' was also responsible as writer. No wonder it's sound eighties ;-)

'I Kiss Our Love Goodbye' is a slow tempo track with the vocals of Keith on top of a smooth beat accompanied by a grand piano.

Track #5 'No Need To Go' looks like it contains a sample of a Freddie Jackson tune. Great smooth track mixed by Wadz for Fonkfatherz Records.

'Lil Sista' is based on a very heavy beat, but the next track 'A Dream Come true' is more an contemporary pop song accompanied by an acoustic guitar. Keith is an artist who can perform different type of styles of music. That occurs again in the next track 'I Wanna' a heavy beats R&B tune featuring Ashe. 'Hurt You Again' is another smooth groove R&B track with great bass line.

A very smooth track with a simple title 'A Walk in The Park' is a killer tune. Why didn't I come on this. Track nummer 'Bombacious' is a heavy synth loaded tune, which sounds superb.

And the absolute killer track on this album is 'Be as One' on top on the drum beat a fantastic killer bass line with simple but clever Lyrics with in between great guitar licks. Very recommended tune. Follow my real chocolate podcast, and you will hear it on regular basis.

'Miss Independent' starts with a S.O.S Band 'Just Be Good To Me' like intro. It's the Robot Junior's Disco Club Mix. After that great intro the beats starts rollin' with a groovy bass line with delicious guitar loops.

The last five tracks a D-Funk Remixes of 'A Dream Come True','i Wanna','Marry Me' and 'You Should Be (Hip-Hop Version)'. 'Marry Me' has less drums, it's more spacey.

If you like a CD of mixed styles of music such as R&B, Hip-Hop, and Old School classics sounds than this CD is maybe one for you. Please support this independent artists. I recommend it anyway.
