Headlined by the new single "No More," Mr. I is executive produced by Ronald Isley and Antonio `L.A.' Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group. Artists putting in guest appearances include T.I. ("Put Your Money On Me") and the Queen Of Soul, Aretha Franklin, on the album's climactic closing version of Carole King's "You've Got a Friend," produced by Jerry `Wonda' Duplessis (of the Fugees). This album not only marks Ronald's first solo foray, but the milestone 50 years in the recording business!
Mr. I continues the Isley tradition of working with today's hottest young producers. In addition to Fuego (who co-produced "No More" with Max Gousse) and Duplessis, other producers include Greg Curtis (known for his work with Keyshia Cole) on four tracks, Tricky Stewart, Kajun, and Song Dynasty. "This is my first time working with all of these producers," Ronald says, "and each of them has been able to capture what I'm about musically. All of them are so into the music of the Isley Brothers, they grew up on it. They've come with some incredible songs and once they saw what I could do with what they brought, they were flabbergasted!" > |

If Eric Benet's career can be defined by anything, it's the purity of emotion. He's consistently made music that speaks to love and speaks from the soul, and on 'Lost In Time' he does it once again. Featuring duets with Faith Evans, Chrisette Michele, Ledisi and the O' Jays Eddie Levert, 'Lost In Time' is at once a sumptuous homage to and an expansion of the sweet soul of the 1970's.
Passionate, playful and heartfelt, 'Lost In Time' is a love song to the love of making sweet soul music. 'I want people to remember what music is and what it can feel like. There's so much to be depressed about right now and I think this more so than ever that you need to remember how good it feels to get back to the real. People just need to have some feel good R&B in their lives.' > |

2010 release from the Grammy-nominated R&B singer/songwriter. As one of the most distinguished voices in R&B music, Charlie Wilson needs no introduction. The Tulsa, Oklahoma native and former lead singer of the funkadelic brotherly trio, the Gap Band has proven with his last two solo albums that he is more than relevant, he is a hit maker. > |
>> | If you are familiar with THE ISLEY BROTHERS, then you know CHRIS JASPER, an integral member of THE ISLEY BROTHERS during the 1970s and 1980s—their gold and platinum years—from the “3+3” (1973) to “Go All The Way” (1980) albums. These were the years when THE ISLEY BROTHERS were a self-produced, self-contained major recording act. When the six members of THE ISLEY BROTHERS disbanded (1984), Marvin and Ernie Isley joined CHRIS JASPER and formed ISLEY-JASPER-ISLEY. They topped the charts singing lead vocals on “Caravan of Love” (1985). Press read more for the review > |
