In 2006, D2G Records contemporary gospel and inspirational vocalist Niyoki (pronounced Nie-yo-kee), came on the gospel scene with her debut release, MY EVERYTHING. The project independently sold more than 15,000 copies, and spawned the hit single “He’s Here” (which ultimately reached the #8 position on Billboard’s Gospel chart and was named the 27th most-played gospel song of 2007 by the trade publication R&R (Radio and Records). Now she is back with her sophomore CD entitled REST which hit stores on August 19th via partnership with Executive Music Group and distribution by Fontana.
Niyoki was previously one of Prince’s backup singers.

Soul and funk artist Isaac Hayes – best known for his pioneering sound in the 1970s – passed away at the age 65 in Memphis.
Hayes – who was to turn 66 on August 20 – is the father of 12 children and the grandfather to 14. He has had four wives.
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 and his
new album was scheduled to be released on September 16. Hayes' "Theme
From Shaft" won both Academy and Grammy awards.
In 1997, Hayes was prominently featured as the voice of Chef in South Park

After thirteen years not being on the scene Evelyn "Champagne" King. released a new album called "Open Book". This album contains 13 tracks with new dance tracks and ballads.

Two brand new re-issues of 70s and 80s albums are available on CD. One CD with two classic albums of The Main Ingredient featuring Cuba Gooding, the 'Shame on The World' from 1975 and 'I Only Have Eyes For you' from 81. As bonus track 'Spoiled' from 1980. And of course the track 'Party People'.
The other re-issue is the 1984 album Sincerely by the The Emotions. The girl group who where also responsable for many Earth Wind And Fire hits. For the freaks some bonus tracks are available of the tune 'You're the best'.
