Enois Scroggins - From E To U

The first track starts with the following Lyric. 'I've Got So much Funk. Let's Share My Funk . From E to U'. Old School master Enois Scroggins did it again with his new CD 'From E to U'. Twenty funk tracks and again an extreme funky album. Where did Enois and his writing partner 'Oliv get the Funk From? Another release with great funky synth bass lines, heavy synthesizer solo's and drum patterns.

The title track 'From E to U' is funk of the first order. This album features a lot of new artists. Carmen is the lead vocalist on the second track 'Take Your Time'. This a more down-tempo tune with very nice vocals of her.

The more up-tempo 'Baby C'est La Vie' and 'Miss Perfection' are pretty to hear but something is missing, it sounds different (less fresh/other mastering perhaps) as the previous/next tracks. They fixed it for track #5 'Boogie In Maskogee' which is influenced by Atlantic Starr's 'Love Come Down', The guitar licks are almost the same, perhaps it's a sample? Heavy synthesizer work in combination with Roger Troutman's talkbox makes this track an absolute killer tune. Guitar licks on 'Get Funky Tonight' has some New York Skyy influences. This track has a fabulous synth solo. 'Set Me On Fire' has that typical 'ta ta taaa' synth what makes this tune real eighties. The same is for the next track 'No Insecurities' with addition of female vocals on top of a Mtume drum loop.

For the second part, the last ten tracks, Enois invited some rappers to perform on these West Coast Old School rap tracks 'Thanks To Music', 'Bump It Up', 'West Coast Bomp'. The talkbox is used frequently. You can compare the sound with 2pac's 'California Love' or Snoop Doggie Dogg's first album. All these rap tracks sounds pretty good though.
