Willie McKinley Hutchinson aka Willie Hutch is born in Los Angeles in 1946. Hutch is a soul icon who wrote and produced many acts in the sixties and seventies such as 'The Fifth Dimension'. In 1970 he wrote 'I'll be there' for the Jackson 5. This was the basis for a long collaboration with Motown Records as writer, producer and Artist. His debut solo album was 'Fully Exposed' from 1973. This album is now available on CD. It is reissued by Soul Brother Records from the UK and re-mastered from the original master tapes.

'Fully Exposed' is full of soulfull tunes. This album reached #15 in the billboard R&B album chart. Hutch wrote eight of the nine tracks himself. He produced the album and played the guitar on it and Joe Sample on piano. It starts with 'I wanna be where you are' written by another soul legend Leon Ware. Michael Jackson recorded this song a year earlier on his debut album. But nevertherless, i think it sounds funkier on this album. 'Can't get ready for losing you' is another great track with beatiful strings, great vocals. Track #3 is a ballad of the first kind followed by seven minutes of 'California My Way', also recorded by the Main Ingredient in 1978. Another funky track is 'Tell me why has our love turned cold', full of strings and nice hooks. 'Sunshine Lady' antoher slow tune that will give goosebumps. Hutch recorded his version of 'I'll Be there' on his album. The last two tracks 'If you ain't got no money (you can't get no honey) and 'Ain't nothing like togetherness' has the motown sound of that period with funky guitar licks but without the the violin and harp strings.
