BR & Timebomb give hip-hop a whole new sound at the Bowery Poetry Club..

BR (Beyond Recognition) & Timebomb are a six piece hip-hop group from Brooklyn, New York. Previously compared to OutKast, The Roots, the Black Eyed Peas, Kanye West, and Earth, Wind & Fire, they add a new rich flavor to the recipe.

In 2007, BR & TIMEBOMB came in first place for the first four rounds in the Emergenza International Band Competition, which were held at The Hook in Brooklyn and at Crash Mansion in Manhattan. They won the Finals as New York City's best band and also as New York's Best Bass Player. BR & TIMEBOMB have performed in many of New York Cities famous venues such as Studio 54, Webster Hall, Union Square Park, Crash Mansion, The National Black Theater and The Apollo Theater. They have also made an appearance at Hofstra University, Long Island and Oberlin College.

TIMEBOMB features Olivia Martinez (violin/viola), Jibrail Nor (drums), Shanelle D. Jenkins (trumpet), Kyle Eaddy (lead Guitar) and Stacy Beatty, Jr. (bass). Timebomb combines a wide range of talented musicians and styles such as R&B, rock, reggae, funk, soul, jazz, classical and pop but call it strictly hip-hop.

BR & Timebomb currently have three singles released on iTunes and CD Baby, and are in the process of completing the rest of their album. BR & Timebomb are consistently touring throughout New York City and throughout the East Coast.


Hosting between 20 and 30 shows a week the Bowery Poetry Club (BPC) is proud of our place in the lineage of populist art: the Yiddish theater, burlesque, vaudeville, beat poetry, jazz, and punk that gave the Bowery its name.
