Gwen started her career with her husband George Mccrae. She did sign to CBS when she decide to go solo. She recorded singles and albums during the mid 70s till the 80s. In the early 80s she switched to atlantic where she record 'Funky Sensation'. Webster Lewis worked, produced her 'On My Own' album with the hit single, wrote by Willie Hutch, 'Keep the fire burning'.
