Guy is an American R&B and New Jack Swing music group that was formed in New York City in 1987. The group was formed by producer Teddy Riley, who was a pioneer of the New Jack Swing genre, which combined elements of R&B, hip-hop, and funk.

Guy's self-titled debut album was released in 1988 and featured the hit singles "Groove Me" and "Teddy's Jam." The album was a commercial and critical success, and established Guy as a major force in the R&B and New Jack Swing music scene.

Over the years, Guy released several successful albums, including "The Future" (1990), "Guy III" (2000), and "The Return of the Band" (2019). The group's music was characterized by its smooth, soulful sound, and Teddy Riley's innovative production techniques.

In addition to their success as a recording group, Guy was also known for their electrifying live performances. The group's concerts were renowned for their energy and showmanship, and they became a staple on the R&B concert circuit.

Despite several lineup changes over the years, Guy continued to record and perform throughout the 1990s and 2000s. In addition to their success as a group, members of Guy went on to have successful solo careers, including Teddy Riley, who produced hits for artists such as Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, and Keith Sweat.

Today, Guy is remembered as one of the most innovative and influential R&B and New Jack Swing groups of the late 1980s and early 1990s.
