The two brothers Michael Brookins, and Robert Brookins won the Motown's 1974 Soul Search Contest. After school and seven years later, Earth, Wind & Fire's Maurice White signed the brothers to ARC records. Calling themselves Afterbach they recorded in 1981 their debut album Matinee. This album is produced by, Maurice Whites brother, Verdine White and Beloyd. Michael plays the guitar and Robert the lead vocals on this album. The album did get good reviews, but the sales was poor. The two best known songs are 'It's you' and 'Wanna fill you up'.
