I've Always Thought That Stacy Lattisaw Was Underated As A Singer. All Throughout The 80's She Released What I Thought Was Some Of The Best R&b By A Female Vocalist Around. "Personal Attention" Was One Of Stacy's Most Compelling And Accessible Albums Of The Decade. Having Had Difficulty Shaking The "child Prodigy" Stamp, Lyrically The Songs On "Personal Attention" Leave No Doubt That This Is A Full Grown Woman Singing. The Lead Off Single Was The Smokey, Sensual, "Every Drop Of Your Love" And It Was An Immediate Hit. Then Strangely Enough It Seemed That The Record Label Didn't Know Which Track To Release As The Next Single. Either That, Or They Were Content With Only One Hit Single And Was Ready To Move On. Whatever The Case Was, "Personal Attention" Was An Album With Several Strong Tracks. "Love Town" Has A Moderate Slow-jam Groove That Would Have Worked Perfectly In A "quiet Storm" Radio Format. "Call Me" Was A Funk Jam That With A Remix Could Have Made An Impact At The Club Level. "Let Me Take You Down" Was Just A Out-and-out Power Ballad, That Could Have Held Its Own Against Anything That Whitney Had Out At The Time. "Find Another Lover", "Changes" And The Title Track Had The Potential To Do For Stacy, What "Control" Did For Janet Jackson. I'm Convinced That Had The Label Really Invested In Stacy Lattisaw And Put Some Strong Effort Into Developing A Stronger Visual Image (music Videos), This Project Could Have Been The Breakthrough That Had Eluded The Singer. I'm Not Saying That The Album Would Have Been As Successful As A "Control", But It Would Have Been Able To Establish Lattisaw As A Formidible Force In The R&b/pop Game. "Personal Attention" Stands As One Of Stacy Lattisaw's Best Albums And It Deserves A Second Listen.
