The Ritchie Family started in 1975 as Cheryl Mason, Cassandra Ann Wooten and Gwendolyn Oliver. On the early albums the main sound was Disco. The first six albums were produced by the disco producers Jacques Morali and Ritchie Rome. The six albums are Arabian Nights, Life is Music, African Queens, Bad Reputation, American Generation, Give Me a Break. Let's sum up some well-known tracks, The BEst Disco in Town, Big Spender, American Generation, Give me a Break. All Disco anthems.
In 1983 The Ritchie Family recorded a new album 'All Night All Right'. This time the line up was again changed in Linda James, Jacqui Smith-Lee, and Vera Brown. Also other producers were hired to produce this album, These producers were Gavin Christopher and Jimmy Douglas. Originally recorded on RCA. With the new producers they recorded some fantastic tracks like 'Real Love', the title track 'All Night All Right'. The first track were mixed by Nick Martinelli. This includes 'Real Love', 'Stop and hink, 'All Night All Right' on this track the vocoder was used. The last track on side A 'I Wanna Be yours' is a typical eighties sounded track. It sound a bit chicish. It is always the same when you take an album from the shelf, you always play the well-known track but if you put on the other tracks, like i did when i reviewed it, you find other tracks that are also pretty good. 'Live it up', and 'I Wanna Be yours', 'Lost In Your Love' are three examples of it. 'Cold Winds' is a down tempo track with beautiful vocals by the ladies.
In short this reissue is worth to purchase from Vinyl Masterpiece. Superb sound quality because they are remastered from the original master tapes. This is a fantastic album with great tracks on it.
