Augie Johnson formed 'the Boppers' back in the late seventies. After their first album, on Fantasy Records, the changed their name to L.A. Boppers. Their first two albums are the selftitled 'The Boppers' and 'L.A. Boppers'. Their follow up in 1981 was 'Bop Time' and their last album from 1982 'Make Mine Bop'.
On this album 'Miki Howard' did some background vocals on the Delfonics cover 'La La Means I Love You', 'Give Me Some', 'you're on my mind'. If you like heavy bass work then you have to listen to this album. 'Give Me Some' is a good example of it. |
