Gina Carey - Melodic John's wife Gina released her new album on their on own label Gico records. This album contains ten smooth songs written, produced, arranged and composed by Gina herself. Just like Gina is working on the cd of her husband John, John is playing the guitar on all the tracks. Gina's vocals are rougher on this album tracks than on John Carey's album.

On Wednesday August 24, 2011, Gina Carey has climbed to the #1 spot of Starpoint Radios’ Top 30 UK Soul Charts with her new CD release “Melodic”.

The first track 'Red Hat' is a funky track with old school guitar licks like the one you heared often in Skyy. The seventies wah wah guitar is brilliant on this track. An other great track is 'Share My Life' with great piano work and of course with fantastic guitar work. Bye the way, all instruments are done by Gina herself. Just like John, Gina wrote a a song for her man 'Loving You'.
An other funky track is #5 'Don't You Give up' followed by the slow tempo 'I Care' with some spanish guitar riffs. 'Without You' is a more up tempo dance tune again with that typical seventies guitar work that never get bored.

On top of a groovy bass line Gina sings 'Don't Ever Let Me Go', a great down tempo track with nice brass sounds. One of my favorite's.

The last two songs are slower. 'A Change' is about the economy, how people is affected by it, loosing their jobs, marriages breaking up etc.

Both John and Gina are great musicians and they show it on both the records. I'm wondering what the atmosphere is in the morning at breakfast in house Carey. Gina singing when backing the eggs and John jamming some guitar licks. LOL.

Check this album too!
