Booker Newberry is born in Youngstown, Ohio. He comes from a musical family. He was inspired to make make music after watching an Ohio Players concert. In 1975 he put together Sweet Thunder, with himself as lead singer and keyboard player. When the group was disbanded Booker recorded a demo of \\\'Love Town\\\'. The song was released in 1983 in the US by Boardwalk records and later by Polydor in the UK where it became a top 10 hit. In 1983 the album \\\'Love town\\\' was released by Malaco records. Booker als recorded an duet with Jean Carne, \\\'It must be love\\\'.

Booker Newberry III is an American singer, songwriter, and musician who was born on January 19, 1956, in Youngstown, Ohio. He began his music career as a member of the R&B band Sweet Thunder in the late 1970s before embarking on a successful solo career.

In 1984, Newberry released his second album, \"Teddy Bear,\" which featured the hit singles \"Teddy Bear\" and \"I Can\'t Wait.\" The album reached number 46 on the US R&B chart and established Newberry as a successful solo artist.
