Donald Sheffey - Between You And I This week I received a promo CD from Donald Sheffey titled 'Between You And I' on Weezie Productions. The CD consist of twelve tracks with mainly a mix of down, mid and up tempo adult contemporary R&B songs.

This album starts with a great tune 'Good Times', a smooth track with the well-known 808 hi-hat. The first bars of 'Loving You Today' does sound familiar. This track have a very catching keyboard riff in it above a jazzy rhythm. It could be Maze song with the all the strings.

Great guitar riffs/licks on 'Take You Home'. Check also the bass on this track, I would mix it a little bit louder ;-) The next track 'Gifted' is a jazzy one. A typical song for the summer. The Lyrics of 'Gifted' is written by Di-Lee of Soulchoonz.com and arranged and recorded by Weezie Productions. Nice Job Di ;-)

Another down-tempo track is the title of the album itself 'Between You And I'. Nice strings on a heavy beat.

On of my favorite tracks of this CD is 'Steppin' Out' a mid-tempo track with great synth sounds on a percussive rhythm. 'One For Me' is a 'mysterious' down-tempo track, with mysterious i mean the sound effects in it.

'What You Need' is another up-tempo song with a Steve Silk Hurley drum pattern. The last track on the album is 'For you Love'. This album is a good one but need to listened more than once, it's getting better each time.
