Today, 22 years ago in 1988, the album Heaven On Earth by Donna Allen debuted on the billboard Top R&B Albums Chart. It reached #28 and was on the chart for a total of 25 weeks.
This album is Donna's second and last one. It consist of mostly mid tempo tracks with, for that time typical, Yamaha DX7 bass sound.
"Can we talk" is a continuation of "Serious" from her previous album "Perfect Timing". Another good track is "We're Smokin' Now". A nice mellow tune is the title track "Heaven On Earth". And of course the superb remake of Maze Frankie Beverly's song "Joy & Pain". Perfectly done. "Jokers Wild" is also one of the fine tune on this CD. Lou Pace the producer did a splendid job.
Don't underestimate this Album.
