Kenny Lattimore is Born and raised in Washington, D.C. At an early age Kenny Lattimore became a music lover. He studied architecture on Howard University, where one of his musical idols, Donny Hathaway, had spent three years. After his graduation he joined the group Maniquin, which recorded one album in 1989 on Epic records. He left the group in 1990 and became a popular writer for other soul artists, such as Glenn Jones.

In 1996 Kenny Lattimore released his first solo album 'Kenny Latimore'. On this album he worked with the best producers and musicians. This album consist the '80s sound' song 'Never Too Busy' a midtempo number. It hit the Soul Top 20. That year he was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Male R&B Artist, but he lost it to Tony Rich.

His next album, 1998's From the Soul of a Man, was written by himself. A nice album with a cover of a Donny Hathaway's favorite, "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know." It was one of the better urban adult contemporary albums of the year.

Lattimore left Columbia and signed with Arista Records. It took three years before his next album, Weekend, came out. It was not his best album and it quickly faded from the charts.

Kenny Lattimore married, in 2001, Chante Moore. After their honeymoon they began working on an album of duets. The album consist of the great pop and soul ballads of the past three decades, Billy Preston/Syreeta classic "With You I'm Born Again," Rene and Angela's "You Don't Have To Cry," and Clint Black and Lisa Hartman's "When I Said I Do," along with a couple of new compositions. Things That Lovers Do, became Lattimore's biggest hit album (Top 5 Soul and Top 40 Pop, and led to a popular national tour and play.
