Major Harris Dies at age 65
Former Member of the Delfonics Major Harris died at age 65 from congestive heart failure. He was best known for his tremendous hit "Love Won't Let Me Wait" written by Bobby Eli. Norman Harris, the Philly producer, guitarist and Trammps co-founder, is the cousin of Major Harris.
"Love Won't Let Me Wait" was from his album 'My Way' from 1975. On this album a bunch of MFSB members collaborated.
In 1984 he recorded the superb album 'I Believe In Love' on SOCIETY HILL Records with that great track 'Gotta Make Up Your Mind'.
He will be missed. RIP

Founder of Go-Go Music Chuck Brown Dies at 76
From Washington DC Chuck Brown, the founder of Go-Go Music, is no longer with us. Go Go is a music form that is based on heavy percussion work. He started his carreer with the group The Soul Searchers. Late in the seventies, in 1979, he scored a big hit with 'Bustin Loose'.
RIP Chuck Brown Donna Summer Dies At Age 63
Donna Summer has died at age 63 after an extended fight with cancer. She was the Queen of Disco in the 70s and 80s. RIP Donna Summer. David Peaston has Died
We heard the sad news that David Peaston has died on the 1st of February. Peaston started his career in 1989 with his debut album 'Introducing: David Peaston' on Geffen Rcords. A few years later in 1991 David recorded 'Mixed Emotions' on MCA. He also collaborated with Gladys Knight.

A new Smooth Jazz, R&B duo is on the scene. This new duo consist of two old school veterans producer Chuckii Booker and flute player Darnell White. Darnell composed and wrote a few songs for the Love and Unlimited Orchestra and for Barry White himself. For Barry White's album 'Beware' he wrote the song "tell me who do you love". Darnell about this: i remember writing that song at my sisters house because Barry needed a couple more minutes of a song to complete the album, and i put that one together for him. Barry always loved that song!! For the Album 'Welcome Aboard (feat. Webster Lewis)' by the Love Unlimited Orchestra Darnell wrote and composed two songs 'Strange' and 'My Fantasies'. Chuckii is a well known producer, arranger and artist. He recorded two albums 'Chuckii' and Niice 'n Wiild in the late 80s and early 90s. |

Interview with The Master of Funk, Bootsy Collins
 | Scott Preston of cincygroove.com had the pleasure to sit down with Cincinnati's own Bootsy Collins and talk with him about his numerous musical projects and his restaurant/music museum that he has started with Jeff Ruby. Some of his notable projects he is involved in include a Fallen Soldiers memorial cd that includes Charlie Daniels and George Duke that will help raise funds for a Fallen Soldiers memorial to built here in Cincinnati. Bootsy is also heavily involved in bringing national attention to the history and influence that King Records has had on music.
